Our sociable clients are looking to update their outdoor spaces in their home in Danville, California. As they love to have friends over, we created more areas for entertainment in the backyard.  A custom water-feature has seating designed into it. The dining pergola is to be covered in grape vine to provide shade from the sun – perfect for our clients who are enthusiastic about growing their own fruit also. Plantings are introduced next to the house to soften the building. And focal points are created at different sightlines to encourage people to move around.

In the courtyard, which is planted with lovely red roses, we decided to create a space all its own that would catch people’s eye as they passed by on their way to the main living area. The custom pergola would provide a roof to this outdoor room, giving a sense of shelter and partially block the view of the neighbor’s house. A striking water feature at the center would add a focal point as well as a beautiful soundscape for a soothing retreat.
